Microchip Implantation

When we scan your pet's microchip it gives us a serial number
we then can look that number up online or call the Canadian Chip Database to track them back to you
A microchip is an electronic way of permanently associating your ownership information with your pet. The microchip itself is about the size of a grain of rice and is implanted subcutaneously (under the skin).

Microchips can be implanted without the need for any pain medication or sedation. They will be registered at your  visit by filling out a form of personal information we send to the company so from that point on your pet will be covered if lost. All veterinary clinics, animal shelters, animal control & humane societies have microchip scanners that can be used to get your pet back home to you.
Did you know?

- 90% of pets lost who DO NOT have a microchip never make it back home to their owners.

- Microchips are not tracking devices, they only tell us a unique serial number that we can use to track back to you.

- Both cats and dogs can get microchips.

- Your pet does not have to be an adult to get a microchip
