COVID- 19 Pandemic Response

*** UPDATE*** December 26, 2020 PROVINCIAL LOCKDOWN

In response to the December 26, 2020 PROVINCIAL LOCKDOWN we want to reassure our clients that veterinary practices are considered essential workplaces and we will remain open. Under these new guidelines, veterinary practices will be providing services through curbside pick-up and drop-off of your pet. This means that under most circumstances we will not allow anyone in the building until further notice.

What this means is that when you arrive for your appointment, park in our parking lot and call that you are here. If you do not have a cell phone or need to pay for the appointment with cash, please call ahead to make arrangements. We will talk to you about your pet over the phone, then someone will come out to your vehicle to get your pet while you wait in your car. Once the doctor has done her exam +/- your pet has had done what is needed, we will call you again to discuss any findings. We will then process payment over the phone using Debit/Visa or a credit card and bring your pet and your receipts out to you.

We ask for your continued patience as we try our best to continue to offer a full range of services for you and your pet. Being able to offer only curbside services means that we will be doing more phone consultations and that you may not be able to get through to the office on your first call.  We understand the frustration this can cause, and ask that you simply try again after a few minutes and know that being unable to get through means we are assisting another pet parent. We are receiving a high volume of email messages already and expect that number to increase in January once we enter lockdown. We again just ask for your patience as we try our best to respond to everybody as quickly as possible.

At this time, we are postponing scheduling any new surgical procedures until AFTER the lockdown. We are accepting pets onto our surgical waitlist. Pets on this list will receive a follow up phone call from the clinic as to when we are scheduling surgeries again and will receive priority booking.

We will continue to offer curbside pick-up of prescriptions and food orders, ideally taking payment over the phone via Debit-Visa or a credit card. At this time we are trying to limit cash transactions, but cash is still accepted. When arriving to pick up an order, park in our parking lot and give us a call (or ring our doorbell located beside the back door) to let us know you are here. We will process your payment over then phone and bring your item(s) out to our pick-up/drop-off table located at the back door.

Please note that we are seeing an increase in back ordered products from our distributor. We are not made aware of what products are / are not available until we place the order with our distributor. We are also not updated as to when these products will be available again, only given approximate arrival dates which we have found to be inaccurate due to the extremely high demand covid and the holiday season has caused.

We encourage use of our online store for food ordering at this time. This will save you time trying to reach the clinic as well as leave the phone lines free for pet parents checking in for appointments / people calling to pick up their orders. Our online store is accessible 24/7 and offers both in clinic pick-up and home delivery of all products. Additional delivery arrangements can also be made through the clinic using one of the in town delivery services.  Find our online store at www.myvetstore.ca/ingersollvet .

Our hours of operation will be adjusted slightly. We will be open Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm. We will not be open late on Wednesday evenings and will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays until further notice. Please call the London Regional Veterinary Emergency Clinic at 519-432-3300 if you pet needs immediate care outside of our working hours.

All of us here at Ingersoll Veterinary Services want to express our thanks to our loyal clients who have worked with us this past year. It was a very unusual year for all and we greatly appreciate the patience and kind words that have been shared with us as we try our best to navigate this “new normal” and provide the best care we can for your furry family members given the circumstances. Wishing you all the best over the holiday season and into the New Year. Stay distanced, stay safe and stay healthy.
The Staff of Ingersoll Veterinary Services
If you or someone in your home is feeling unwell, we ask that you send an alternate friend or one of the delivery services to pick up your order or bring your pet in
When you arrive to pick up food or medications:
1. Park in the back parking lot off of Duke St.
2. Call from your vehicle, say who you are and what you are picking up. You will need to pay over the phone with Visa debit or a credit card if you have not paid already
3. Wait in your car until an employee has brought out your purchases and placed on the table set by the back door. Medications will be in bags and will be placed in the box on the table. All purchases will be labelled with the last name listed on the account.
4. Get your purchase from the table once the employee has returned to the building
We are updating all active clients about any service changes via e-newsletter.
If you have not received any of our COVID-19 pandemic related e-newsletters please contact the clinic to ensure we have your current e-mail address.

2020 Heartworm Season Changes

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we have postponed our 2020 Heartworm and tick disease testing season.
In an e-newsletter sent to all our clients April 16, 2020 we outlined the changes and steps to getting Heartworm medication for the 2020 season. It explained that until we can start doing the Heartworm and tick disease testing all clients who wish to obtain prescription prevention need to sign a Heartworm waiver. The waiver states that you acknowledge that you have agreed to start the Heartworm prevention medication without doing the blood testing first as per the manufacturer's prescription policy. You can find the waiver on our forms page here.
