First visits can always be a little nerve-wracking. Whether it is a young excitable puppy or an anxious cat we do our best to give your pet the best experience possible. We encourage you to bring in your pet to get used to our clinic, these cookie and cuddle sessions are particularly good for anxious dogs who may need to be socialized in a controlled environment. We have many people bring their pets in for a cookie and cuddle and these can be a highlight of our day.
New clients can expect to need to fill out an information sheet, and your pet will have a nose to tail exam done by one of our doctors. We will ask who your last clinic was so we can contact them for records. We do this so the veterinarian seeing your pet can review and get to know the medical history of your pet. We find this especially important to do before your appointment date if your pet has any ongoing medications or medical concerns.
We set aside specific times during the day for same-day appointments, you may not be seen by your regular veterinarian but we do our best to accommodate so that everyone who is in need can be helped. In emergency situations, that pet is given priority. Due to emergencies there may be a wait for the doctor to see you, we do our best to inform you if there is an expected wait time and you are always welcome to reschedule if you are unable to wait.
We are dedicated to providing compassionate, quality veterinary care for all our patients. For anxious or nervous pets we use calming music, pheromone therapy, Thundershirts and warmed blankets to help de-stress while in the exam room. If you have any concerns about bringing your pet in feel free to call us and discuss them, so together we can ensure your fur-baby has the best possible care.
